As a person with anxiety, I have always had to learn to let go of the things that overwhelm me. Originally, I tried to get tips from other people as to what helped them calm down, but not everyone is the same. Everyone has a different method of calming down, but it takes a bit of effort to find it. Sometimes, I can not just push things to the back f my mind. I simply have to let go and calm down.
First, I looked online for tips, such as these. Although some worked. I realized they were not perfect for me and I decided to experiment on my own. I would end up in situations that made me anxious, and test methods of calming down. I tried this that were pleasing to me when I was not anxious and found that that was the best method. By doing the things I love when I was not feeling good, I started to calm down. They were things I had done multiple times before and it helped move my mind to other things.
However, everyone is different and what works for me may not work for others. My suggestion would be that you need to figure out a self care plan or experiment with things that calm you down. If you ever get stressed out, what do you do to calm down? Can you just push things to the back of your mind and accept it?
