Once again I have created a set of flashcards here.
In "Boston Cool to Mark Wahlburg's Plan for Movie on Marathon Attack" they talk about how Boston still hurts over the Boston Marathon shootings in 2013 and doesn't want Wahlburg to make a movie about it. They use quotes, and use lots of the elements of the personal narrative which makes it a very well done article and an interesting one to read.
The article did a very good job of keeping the purpose the same. They did this by only giving facts and peoples opinions on the matter. This information informed you by telling how Boston and its citizens felt about the situation. It also kept its purpose because it only informed people, it wasn't to entertain you, it was to tell you what happened which it did. Overall, it did a good job giving you all the facts. Along with this, it did a good job staying on subject. No matter what the author was writing about, he was always writing about why Wahlburg couldn't make his movie due to the hard feelings of Boston citizens over the shootings. For example, when he gave quotes, they were about how the people of Boston felt towards the event and why he shouldn't make the movie. The author always kept on subject which was great use of the personal narrative. The last element the author achieved was giving the audience what they want. When people come to the site, from my experience, they want news and some gossip. This article is very interesting to those types of people because they want to know why the movie Wahlburg wants to make is so bad. Another way he achieves the satisfying the audience is by giving only the information that they want. He never makes it boring, it is always juicy information on why he can't make the movie, there is no extra stuff they don't want. Overall, he did a great job achieving this element because he gave them the information they wanted, and only the information they wanted. The author did a very good job on this article by using the personal narrative. He did this by achieving the elements of audience, purpose, and subject. The article was also very interesting which all added up to be a successful article. Overall, I think it was very well written because it achieved all of the elements and was still interesting. Money is always hard to earn, or at least it was at one point. Nowadays there are tons of online sites, like Storenvy or Youtube, that you can use to earn it. One of my personal favorites is Etsy. It has tons of cute handmade and vintage items for sale from other people just like you and I have bought a lot of stuff from it. So, seeing as I liked it so much, I decided to give it a try and sell my own stuff. I started to draw out pictures and quotes for prints and stationery which was what I decided would be my product to sell. It was super easy and once I finished drawing them, I decided to set up my shop. Everything was super simple to use and I was uploading pictures of my products. It seemed like everything would be smooth sailing. However, all good things come with a price. Much to my dismay that price was 20 cents per product with other fees. I was super bummed out and left it alone, I haven't been back to edit my store since. But, I won't let one little thing stop me on my way to victory. Soon my Etsy shop will be up and running.
